Not knowing all the words

Posted by Simon Parke, 20 March 2018, 7.14am

On the morning train, the child is reading to his mum in preparation for school.

It’s a public reading, though most of the public are playing with their phones.

He manages some words, struggles with others; and sometimes, he just says ‘something’ instead of the word.

‘The dog picked up the something bone – don’t know what that word is – and ran down the road.’

I like the fact that he carries on.

It’s good to hear that he doesn’t get stuck on what he doesn’t know but simply carries on with the story.

Our meditation today is towards allowing ourselves all the things we don’t know at present.

Like the little boy, we’ll simply allow our unknowing, it doesn’t stop our story.

Our story still makes sense…
