How to use the meditations
1. Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed.
2. Read through the whole meditation a few times, then put it down.
3. Sit in a position both comfortable and alert.
4. Allow the meditation 10 minutes or so in your imagination. Do not give up before this time; stay with it.
5. Allow another 10 minutes for recording what happened. Allow events to develop as you record. |

MEDITATION 22
ONE TIME ONLY
It's natural to separate time into various compartments but is it true?
We look ahead to our day and say this will be good time, and this will be bad time; this will be difficult time, and this happy time; this time I will dread, and this time I will keenly anticipate.
We cut the cloth of time into different pieces. Some look good to us; some don't.
CONSIDER
Consider your pieces of time today.
The walk to the bus; sandwich on park bench; tasks to be done; making tea; cleaning the oven; playing squash; watching TV; shopping; writing e mails; playing with the children; the difficult meeting; sitting in traffic jam; singing in the shower everything.
What do you dread? What do you anticipate? What are you numb to?
Our personality demands that we cut up time. "Compartmentalise!" it says.
Like a control freak, it slices up our day. "Dread this!" "Anticipate that!" and we usually obey.
Which is a shame, really, because a) Our personality doesn't know anything, and b) There are no compartments other than in our imagination.
Time is one a seamless robe which cannot be cut up; and all time is good.
