the one minute mystic
How to use the meditations

1. Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed.

2. Read through the whole meditation a few times, then put it down.

3. Sit in a position both comfortable and alert.

4. Allow the meditation 10 minutes or so in your imagination. Do not give up before this time; stay with it.

5. Allow another 10 minutes for recording what happened. Allow events to develop as you record.
  MEDITATION 26
BABY TALK

The human baby is the most socially influenced creature on earth.

Our sense of self developed in conjunction with a sense of others – primarily our mother, and then others.

When small, we internalised these people's feelings; internalised their attitudes, and imagined them to be our own.

And this is not a legacy we walk free from with time. Infant memories lodged in our unconscious, ensure the continuity of such feelings into adult life.

We are such memories – until we are not.

Imagine

You are a baby once again.

Are you lying down – or sitting up? And where? What are your surroundings?

Is there someone near you? Are there people round about?

What are your feelings as you look out on the world?

What feelings do you sense being put inside you?

What do you most want now?

Amidst it all, is there a sense of your true self – a self not swamped by, or beholden to, others attitudes and needs?

If so, what does it look like? This other self?

You are a baby again. And wondering.
