the one minute mystic
How to use the meditations

1. Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed.

2. Read through the whole meditation a few times, then put it down.

3. Sit in a position both comfortable and alert.

4. Allow the meditation 10 minutes or so in your imagination. Do not give up before this time; stay with it.

5. Allow another 10 minutes for recording what happened. Allow events to develop as you record.
  MEDITATION 31
ARE YOU SOMEONE ELSE?

Circumstances past or present sometimes force us from our selves; force us into a role, into something other than who we are.

Perhaps we disguise our true selves because we are afraid of upsetting someone.

Or maybe life has thrust us in a situation not of our choosing – limiting and stressful. It's about survival for us now.

But not being the person you are not only makes you unhappy. It also makes you ill – for spirit and immune system are one.

When working on my book The Beautiful Life, my editor wanted a line removed, but I insisted it stayed. The line was this: "Pretence kills more people than cancer."

Consider

Is anyone or anything asking you to be someone other than who you are?

Is there a situation or circumstance in which you feel your self dying?

Why is this? What is the truth here?

Can you see a way out or a way through?

Imagine

Go there in your mind, and be mindful of your breathing as you do. What does it reveal?

Is it possible for you to be there and not pretend?

And what will you now do?
