the one minute mystic
How to use the meditations

1. Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed.

2. Read through the whole meditation a few times, then put it down.

3. Sit in a position both comfortable and alert.

4. Allow the meditation 10 minutes or so in your imagination. Do not give up before this time; stay with it.

5. Allow another 10 minutes for recording what happened. Allow events to develop as you record.
  MEDITATION 37
IT'S ALL IN THE PREPARATION

As with painting your front room, meditation is all in the preparation: which is nothing more complicated than accepting everything as it is; just now, as it is. This is fine.

In meditation, you are trying to change nothing. There's nothing to change – in you, or in anyone else.

So desire nothing, and resist nothing. Is there something you desire? Note it, laugh – and move on. And anything you resist? Note it, laugh – and again, move on. (It's hard to move on until you have noted these things. Until noted, they may destroy this endeavour.)

You might get to some silence eventually, (minutes/ hours/ years later.) And when you do, listen to it; become aware of the stillness.

Silence.
Stillness.

You came from stillness, of course: before some thing, no thing – stillness.

Before body, before life, before thought... stillness. Stillness creates of its own accord, and without our help.

And with no outcome demanded, you can relax; relax in the stillness, and allow it to carry you. It's not often that you don't have a preferred outcome, but just now, that is how you are.

You rest in your lack of knowing; and feel strangely secure in your vulnerability.

You're still.

Effortless
Quiet
Listening
Open
Breathing
Being
And not being

Sweet space

(Punters should note that, as suggested above, this preparation can take years.)
