Did the forget-me-not forget?
Maybe the memo passed it by.
It goes on being fabulous
And there are some who wonder why
Did no one tell the flowers
The pot holes worsen every day?
The tulips sway with laughter
As do the bluebells, in their way
They clump themselves beside the road
A community of glory
While autocrats with blood-stained hands
Provide the headline stories
And surely flowers should tone things down
Our world collapses daily
But I saw the primrose smiling
And the magnolia – well, words fail me
They sing amid the morning dew
They scent our evening hours
Lives dismantled, hope on hold
So did no one tell the flowers?
