‘Run into peace.’
Three words from Eckhart – and a thousand reasons not to today.
It is an impossible quest – but run anyway.
Run through undergrowth and swamp; through marsh weeds and brambles; through rivers and fields, through suburbs, traffic and crowds; through the silence, the panic and life-denying fear; through bad news and good, we run.
And the end of our journeying? We run into peace.
Peace is waiting, it’s there inside you, considerable expanse, an indestructible force.
As Eckhart says, ‘All God wants of us is a peaceful heart.’
So run.
